What types of editing do you specialise in?
Developmental editing , line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. My personal favourite is developmental editing. I love seeing the potential in a novel and working with the author to make it phenomenal.

What does the editing process look like?
1) You reach out to me via my form or email, providing me with details about your manuscript, and a 1000 word sample, if you wish. 2) I will get back to you promptly. 3) We will chat about what you are looking for, and I will work on your sample edit (this will usually take a few days, as I do these during my 'off work' hours, outside of clients). If I am interested in the sample, I may ask for your full manuscript to review. 4) I will send back the sample edit for you to review, and a copy of my contract. You will review everything and make your decision. 6) If you decide to work with me, we will discuss pricing, payment, and delivery. 7) I will create the final contract and invoice, and send them over for you to review and sign. 8) You will make the deposit through PayPal to secure your booking. 9) I get to work. a) I do all my edits in Microsoft Word with track changes on, and I leave comments. I do not work in the same document as you, so you will not see the edits until I turn them in. b) I do not give updates, only if you request them. You are welcome to contact me anytime. c) With all edits I create an editorial letter which summarises all of my feedback and suggestions in one separate document. 10) I will turn in the completed edits after you have made the final payment. 11) If you want to discuss them over a call, that can be arranged. Otherwise, we will discuss them over email.
What is your average turnaround time for each service you provide?
My turn around times are based on word count, service required, and the work needed on a manuscript. Developmental edit – 2-4 weeks Line/Copy edit – 2-3 weeks Proofreading – 1-2 weeks Beta reading/critique – 1-2 weeks
How should I format my manuscript?
Please make sure your manuscript is formatted correctly before sending it to me, as it makes things a lot easier. * 1 inch margins * A4 page size * Times New Roman, size 12 * Double spaced * 0.5 inch first line indent * Navigable chapter headings * Page break for each new chapter/ scene (DO NOT USE THE SPACE BAR). * Please use text styles for normal text and headings so all text is consistent.
How does payment work?
Payment is decided on before work begins. You will pay a 20% non-refundable deposit to book your slot, and then the remaining total will be paid upon completion. I also offer payment plans if needed. Payment must be paid in total before receiving the final edits.

A critique of your manuscript providing actionable feedback on your story’s plot, characters, pacing, dialogue, etc. As well as my recommendation of what editing services you will need. You will receive an editorial letter outlining my feedback, but no edits to the manuscript.
Manuscript Critique
£0.015 per word
Looks at the ‘big picture’ and focuses on plot, structure, character development, pacing, point of view, etc. You will receive an editorial letter (usually around 30-35 pages) of feedback, suggestions, and general tips, as well as comments in the manuscript. Multiple rounds are sometimes needed.
Developmental Edit
£0.01 per word
These stages are done simultaneously. A line edit is an in depth analysis of each line and how it contributes to the big picture. A copy edit fixes typos, inaccuracies, and repetition. you will receive an editorial letter (Usually around 20 pages) outlining all my feedback and suggestions, as well as an edited manuscript, and a style sheet, which is a 'book bible' of all your characters, terms, spellings, and punctuation choices. It is like a handbook for your novel.
Line/Copy Edit

The final stage of editing. Please make sure your book is formatted before this stage. Identifying spelling/grammar mistakes, punctuation errors and formatting inconsistencies to ensure text is polished and error-free before publication/submission. You will receive an edited proof copy.

I will read your manuscript from the point of view of a reader and provide feedback on the story, pacing, character development etc. You can provide me with a list of questions that I will answer regarding your manuscript after reading.
